There are many different ways to propose, and most women including myself love reading and talking about proposals.  In my business I've had the opportunity to help hundreds of men propose, and most of them ask me for some advice.  Below are seven ideas that are sentimental enough to make your proposal stand out and make your partner cry tears of happiness.  Remember, the ring is the star of the show, so along with these pointers, do what you can to make the ring shine. 

1.  Propose While in an Exotic Place  This is one of the more common ways to propose, but since there are many different places to travel, the destination is what will make your proposal unique.  You want the place to be scenic, like at the top of a mountain or along the ocean.  I tell all my customers if they plan to propose while traveling to be sure they have the ring insured before they take the trip.  The last thing you need is lost luggage and a lost engagement ring.

2.  Involve Your Hobbies

 If there is an activity you both enjoy doing together, try to incorporate this into your proposal.  Whether you both have a love of sky diving, scuba diving, going to poetry readings, or getting take out sushi on a Friday, there are many  ways to nonchalantly plan an outing that isn't out of the ordinary for you both and include the proposal here.  It will not only make the proposal a surprise, it will also make it a very personal experience.
