Steps
1
Take 1 cup of coconut oil and melt it if it's in solid form or if it's a liquid, let's move on.
- Tip: To melt your solid coconut oil, you can use a double heater (i.e. placing a bowl above another bowl with boiling water / Heat in microwave at 30 second bursts)
-

-
3Let the melted coconut oil cool down for 30 minutes; if it's a liquid then you can move on to the next step.
-
4Take 3 TBSP of jojoba/ olive/ sweet almond oil to your coconut oil.
-
5Take 1 Tsp. of your Vitamin E or grape seed oil and add this to your mixture.
- Tip: Adding vitamin E will increase the storage life of your Hair mask. And you can use Vitamin E in any form(i.e. in capsules/ liquid)
-

-
7Take your electric whisk and whisk, whisk, whisk until it gets a little foamy at the sides.
-
8Now take the mixture and freeze/ cool it for half an hour.
- Tip: Make sure that you keep an eye on your mixture since it freezes very fast. It should be frozen at the top with the inner part still liquid. You can check this by pricking your mixture with a toothpick or a sharp object. Don't break it while you try pricking it to find out if its done. It's better you check the mixture once it hits the 15 min mark.
-
9Once you get it out of the fridge, whisk it until it forms a creamy texture.
-
10Add 3 Tbsp. of vegetable glycerin to the mix.
-
11Then add 1/2 a cup of water (not hot; but room temperature)
-
12Again whisk, whisk, whisk till it forms a creamy texture.
- Tip: It looks more of like a body lotion texture and not as thick as whipped cream texture.
-
13Optional: You can use soap making colors or oil based colors to make your hair mask attractive.
-
14Store it in a jar.
