Personal integrity is essential for success in sales. You have likely met (at some point in your lifetime as a consumer) the kind of sales person who made your skin crawl. On the other hand, you may have had the pleasure of meeting the kind of sales rep who made you feel as though he/she genuinely cared about your problem and wanted to help you solve it. In many cases, the sales professional who instantly comes across as trustworthy and honest is the one who possesses a high level of personal integrity. Increasing one’s personal integrity involves bringing consistency and congruency into all areas of life.
Steps
1
Maintain neatness in your personal appearance, your home, your vehicle, your workplace and all of your surrounding environments. It may sound like a trivial step, but it makes a world of difference.-
2Practice honesty in all your communications and actualize your purposes. You cannot maintain personal integrity in part of your life -- it's everywhere, or it's nowhere. Besides being honest in your dealings with clients, you must also practice honesty in dealing with relatives, friends, neighbors, enemies and perfect strangers.

3Get in the habit of keeping promises. Do what you say you will do, when you say you will do it (or sooner). Be dependable--not in just one or two areas of your life--but personal integrity means consistency across the board.
Make this possible, if you don't over-promise: Only commit to what you truly believe you can actually deliver. -
4Keep track. Notice when you stray from personal integrity, and recommit to getting back on track.
Set wrongs right again, making a fresh start immediately. -
5Keep good company. It is very difficult to increase your personal integrity if you spend a lot of time with unscrupulous people.
