The Use of fibre-rich, vegetable-based diet for fibroid treatment is gaining popularity as fibroid patients testify of surprising changes in their health conditions.
For those who do not know, Fibroids are small, noncancerous growths on the uterus. In some cases, they can cause pain, excessive bleeding and even infertility. A surgical procedure to remove the uterus called a hysterectomy is a guaranteed way to get rid of fibroids. Considering the fact that most fibroid patients are hesitant to carry out a surgery or remove their uterus all together, some of them decided to seek alternative, non-invasive treatments which has produced excellent results.
These are some tips to follow when dieting as treatment for fibroid:
Eat vegetable-based diets: This is important because plant foods contain substances called phytoestrogens, or plant oestrogens. These substances bind themselves to the same cell receptors as the estrogen thereby blocking its ability to affect the cells. Without the excess estrogen causing the uterus to grow, it can shrink along with the fibroids. This method has been noted to bring about rapid shrinking within the space of two weeks. Foods with high amounts of phytoestrogens include soy products, nuts, and seeds.
Eat lots of fruits: The uses of fresh fruits in the body can never be taken for granted. As the body struggles to cleanse its self of the damage caused by the fibroid or whatever aggressive treatments may have been administered before starting this treatment diet, fresh fruits do the job of replenishing and refreshing the body. This is especially important for those who are trying to take in.
Avoiding certain foods may also help lower estrogen levels. Some suggest avoiding sugar, caffeine and saturated fat. Also cut back on coffee, dairy products and non-organic meats to avoid contact with hormone drugs and pesticides.
As pertaining to exercise, yoga is said to be the most suitable for the shrinking of fibroid amongst others
