Helping one child with his or her homework can be challenging enough. Helping several children with different needs is even more so. You will need involve your children in this process as well as attending to their individual homework help needs.

Make a large calendar just for homework. Have your children write project due dates, homework due dates, etc. on this calendar. Each child can write their work in a different color, or put stickers beside their project due dates.
  • Use the calendar to schedule library trips, computer use, or other homework-related activities.

    Set aside a pre-scheduled time to help each child. Write this on the homework calendar. This prevents competition for your attention while you're giving assistance.

    Make sure each child has his or her own "study space best suited to needs. For example, if one child is more easily distracted, he may benefit from having a quiet space set up in his room.
