The good guy can often feel awkwardly caught in between the two extremes of meeting a good girl at a bar/club or an online dating service.  While I know a few friends who have had success in both arenas, the typical good guy ideally would like to meet the girl of his dreams in his habitat.  Where is this habitat you might be asking?  It’s the place you feel most comfortable.  You have to be yourself if you want to capture her attention, so why not brainstorm some places your good girl might be waiting?  “9 Places Where a Good Guy Can Meet a Good Girl” should give you a starting place.

1.  Exercising:
While walking through the UCLA campus a few weeks ago, a buddy and me watched a guy come running out of the gym to ask a girl for her number.  Kudos on his courage.  She blushed, and he got the digits.  Your girl might be at LA Fitness, 24, or even the YMCA.  Think outside the box of the typical facility too.  Try some Crossfit classes, indoor rockclimbing, coed softball league, or outdoor trails.  If you’re really brave, try yoga, and definitely Cardio Barre (you’ll be the only dude).  One of my buddies found his wife while running the stairs in Santa Monica.
2.  Leadership Conferences:
I attended the Invisible Children’s Fourth Estate Summit a few weeks ago, and I’d say 70% of the audience was girls.  Not just any girls, though.  These are young women who want to make a difference in the world.  With that kind of  male to female ratio, a good guy is bound to find his dream girl to pursue.  One of my buddies met his girl at the Latino Leadership Conference.  If you’re in college, consider getting involved in Greek organizations, campus ministries, etc.
3.  Coffee Shops/Bookstores:
Your best bet is to frequent a busier location.  The tables are all taken, so you’re gonna have to share a spot.  Why not share a spot with that girl you’ve had your eyes on?  Before I was married, I had many a friend make fun of me for asking what book a girl was reading.  Bottom line is, it works if you’re sincere.  Use it.
4.  Volunteering:
Good girls love to mentor kids and as a good guy, so do you.  Is there a Big Brothers/Big Sisters in your area?  Here in LA, there is a group called Red Eye, which does mentoring activities every Saturday with at-risk youth.  You might be surprised how many quality girls come out every week to help out.  There might be activities in your community you can get involved in as well like the Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, feeding the homeless, a literacy council, etc.
5.  Political/Advocacy Groups:
Are you passionate about a certain cause?  You can find a good girl who has the same political views and passions as you. Get involved in an election campaign.  Look for Republican or Democratic meet-up groups in your area.  Here are some examples of other groups you might want to attend if they fit your passions:  the Sierra Club, PETA, the American Diabetes Association, or even the NRA.
6.  Hobby classes:
The couple that plays together, stays together.  I know a hospital director who met his wife on the golf course.  They play every weekend now. Do any of these spark an interest in you?  Try an improve class, language class, cooking class, wine-tasting class, music class, photography workshops, etc.
7.  Faith based activities:
Don’t just think of the typical church service, mass, or synagogue.  Get involved.  Check and see if there is a small group or bible study you can attend.  Look up local FCA’s, Young Life clubs, or if you’re in college, get involved in Cru.
8.  Parties:
The best way to find a good girl is through friends.  Don’t miss out on the house parties.  Here are a few you won’t want to miss:  Superbowl, birthday, costume parties, or even game night.  Maybe a river float trip?  Have you ever played Mafia?  One of the best party games ever!  Click here if you’ve never heard of it and want to learn how to play.
9.  Fundraising events:
Over a year ago, I saw my wife at a Generosity Water fundraising event.  You might find a good girl at a gala in your area too.   Sign up for a 5k fundraiser, Children’s Miracle Network does an all-night Dance Marathon, etc.
Get out and about.  Become known in your community.  When it comes to finding a good girl, easiest isn’t best.  Easy is where the majority of guys are looking, which makes the level of competition higher.  Be thoughtful and be creative, and you will separate from the pack.  Not to mention, these skills are going to help you on down the line too. Good luck to you good guy swaggers.  Keep us updated on your adventure.
