1. Eat fish
A superb and tasty way to avoid wrinkles is to make sure that you have plenty of fish in your diet. Salmon is a particularly good choice, as it filled with the essential omega-3 fatty acid, which nourishes your skin and plumps it up.
2. Relax
Another easy tip on how to prevent wrinkles is simply – relax. They say about some people that you can see their lives etched on their faces. There are such things as worry lines, so try to relax and don’t get too stressed, because it can show in your face eventually.
3. Sleep well and sleep on your back
When you sleep, your body produces human growth hormone which helps your tissues stay elastic and retain their thickness. Another tip for sleeping is to sleep on your back. It might feel lovely, crunching your face into a nice, soft pillow, but it’s squashing your muscles and crunching up your skin, prompting the appearance of wrinkles.
4. You need more antioxidants when you get older
As you get older, your metabolism slows and you need to get more antioxidants to avoid your skin becoming weaker. The best source of these antioxidants is by eating more fruits and veggies, which will help your body to fight the skin damaging free radicals.
5. Use natural face masks
Make use of what nature has given us and use your own homemade natural face masks to keep the wrinkles at bay. There are many recipes for natural face masks (on this website too, so feel free to explore…) and one of the simplest anti-wrinkle face masks is just cut some seedless grapes in half, rub on your face and leave for 5-10 minutes before washing off. Grapes are a natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids, which are the active ingredient of many off the shelf skin firming treatments.
Here are some more recipes of natural face masks with anti-aging properties:
6. Just moisturize!
Even with all the clever chemical solutions that are available today, it’s still a truth to say that just moisturizing regularly will keep the wrinkles at bay. Nothing can stop the aging process, but you can give your skin the extra moisture that it will need, when you get a bit older by using pure and simple moisturizers or natural oils. Some of my favorite moisturizing and nourishing oils include: argan oil, avocado oil, sweet almond oil, coconut oil, grape-seed oil, rice bran oil, rose hip oil, extra virgin olive oil and shea butter; use them mixed or individually and enjoy soft, nourished and healthy skin!
7. Drink plenty of water
If you look for natural ways to prevent the appearance of wrinkles, then drink plenty of water. We seem to mention this in nearly every post, but it’s amazing how many people still do not drink enough water every day. Water is so essential to the operation of many parts of your body, and your skin is no exception. Staying hydrated will keep your skin supple and minimize the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
8. Boost your vitamin E
Vitamin E is an essential ingredient that your skin needs to keep its youthful looks. You can get your vitamin E through your diet by eating plenty of fresh vegetables, fish and fruits or, for a quick vitamin E boost for your skin, apply a mixture of 1 tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel, one egg white and one capsule of liquid vitamin E to your face and leave for 10 minutes before washing off. Your skin will feel rejuvenated and glowing with youth!
