In case I haven't mentioned it lately, I'm about 400 months pregnant (read: due in 5 weeks). Although I feel great, things aren't going entirely smoothly. At least not in the grooming department. I mean that quite literally. Read on for the uncomfortable details.
When you're 8+ months pregnant, you can barely get a good glimpse of your toes, let alone your lady parts. That makes shaving your bikini line a rather uncomfortable, not to mention potentially dangerous, proposition. And while lots of my friends continue to get bikini waxes straight through their pregnancies (and right up until their due dates--gotta look nice for that close-cropped birth video! Shudder ... ), I just could not take that kind of pain right now. I'm uncomfortable enough. Not to mention I'd feel like beyond a beached whale rolling up and onto a waxer's table. So for now I just do what I can by contorting into really weird positions in the shower. I'm sure things are looking far from symmetrical down there but ... whatever. My OB can go ahead and judge. (And she probably does, as a high-maintenance Upper East Side lady herself.)
Fellow moms in the house, how did you get around the bikini-line grooming issue when you were preg? Or did you just kinda give up? Did any other grooming/beauty issues arise that nobody had warned you about?
