Plan your Calls
There is nothing worse than being unprepared when you are calling a business. By being unprepared can then lead to you losing control of the conversation. If you have any information about the company make sure you review it and get to know the individual you are about to call.Act like you are Meeting in Person
When making the call do it with a smile on your face and relax and sit comfortably in your chair this will put you at ease. Try to act like you are meeting the individual face to face and don’t be put off by some peoples mannerisms if they are short with you it may just be how they talk over the phone.Talk to them not at them
Talk to them like an individual, this could be the first point of contact they have with your company so make sure you come across as professional and polite. Try to engage them in a short conversation such as how there day is going or how’s the weather.Be honest and Unafraid to ask for Clarification
If you mishear anything during the conversation don’t be afraid to ask them to repeat something or to ask how to spell anything like their name for example.Sell the benefits of your product or service
When trying to set an appointment you need to tell the individual why you are calling and why they should take time out of their day to see you. Tell them why your product or service can help their business. You want to introduce your product but don’t overdo it as you are trying to set an appointment not to sell your product or service over the phone.Don’t give up after the first rejection
If you don’t make an appointment after the first few calls don’t get disheartened it is going to be tough and you will get rejections, but if you believe in the product or service you are selling then you will be fine.Don't use a dialler
One of the best ways to start any
call off on the wrong foot is to use a dialler of any description. This
can really irritate people and by are more likely to put the phone down
on you before you get a chance to start your pitch.
Recap the appointment at the End of the Call
When you make the appointment make sure that you confirm the time and date at the end of the conversation and most importantly thank them for their time.source:denwa.uk.com
