Its been said that the things we enjoy the most,
are usually the causes of our death. In this case, its our hair thats
getting damaged by our favourite hair care products or habits.
Here are 7 easy tips on saving your hair and restoring its natural state:
Use mild hair colours:
Majority
of hair colour formulas dry your hair out. If your hair looks or feels
crispy, go for an ammonia-free, oil-based colour like Garnier Olia. The
colour molecules are linked to droplets of oil that penetrate your hair,
making it supple and unlikely to break.
Good diet:
Did
you know that Certain foods help your scalp produce more natural oils,
thereby moisturizing your hair. There are a number of hair special foods
that can boost your strands such as Salmon, which is loaded with
omega-3 fatty acids, dark green vegetables for vitamins A and C, and
nuts, which are a terrific source of zinc.
Natural hair mask:
A
well-stocked kitchen, can save you some pretty bucks. you don't have to
spend a lot of money on fancy treatment product. Mash up an avocado and
apply to dry hair as a hair mask. The natural oils and omega fatty
acids will moisturize your hair and leave it feeling silky.
Avoid heat treatment methods:
Obviously,
heat dries our hair. That's why its suggested that you avoid the blow
dryer and flat iron routine. If you don't have time to let your hair air
dry, be sure to use a heat protection spray before you style. These
products are made to infuse the hair with moisture, and the heat will
actually help the hydrating ingredients penetrate each and every strand.
While air-drying is still less damaging than any form of heat styling,
heat protection sprays can help to make your hair look healthier.
Less shampoo:
Most
women have given up shampoo altogether in favour of cleansing
conditioners; this process is called "co-washing." This two-in-one
product uses natural oils to remove build-ups and dirt from your hair,
while simultaneously conditioning — leaving the hair feeling hydrated.
While each cleansing conditioner may have slightly different
instructions, Just apply a generous amount of the product from the roots
to ends of your hair and let it soak while taking a shower. Rinse out
and you're good to go.
Less washing:
Washing
your hair every other day is actually one too many. Your hair only
needs to be washed twice a week. When you shampoo, use a product that's
gentle. Avoid sodium lauryl sulphates — detergents that make your
shampoo foam at the same time, strip oil from your hair. Look out for
products that contain natural cleansers like sodium coco-sulphate, which
is derived from coconut oil. Some examples are Jason Long & Strong
Jojoba Shampoo and Aveeno Pure Renewal Shampoo.
Conditioning:
If
your hair is still dry after all these steps, here’s one more thing to
try. Include a weekly in-shower treatment into your routine. You must be
ready to do some damage control with any deep conditioner. After
co-washing shampooing as the case may be, apply a deep conditioner or
hair mask from the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair. Let it soak in
for 10 to 20 minutes before rinsing off. Deep conditioners, or hair
masks, are highly charged with even more moisturizing ingredients than
your daily conditioner. Be sure to use one that’s suited for your hair.
