From to the leech beauty therapy to the snail facial, the beauty industry is constantly churning out seemingly bizarre but highly effective methods of getting flawless skin while also winding back the aging clock.
More often than not, you'll find that these therapies are premium priced considering the level of expertise that goes into dispensing them. But do you know there are other equally effective and somewhat weird beauty tricks you can do from the comfort of your home to get amazing skin?
Here are 6 of such weird beauty tricks:

  • Potato or cucumber slices: For those long nights, place a slice of potato or cucumber over your eyes in the morning as this will not only cool them but also reduce the swelling.
  • Avocado pear: The high vitamin E and C content of avocado pear makes it great for the skin and even hair. Use avocado pear as a facial mask as it cools and restores the skin, while avocado mixed with olive oil is great for the hair.
  • Toothpaste: This is particularly great for pimples. Simply squeeze and apply over the affected area and the toothpaste dries it up. While this is a quick fix, it's also important to still tackle it with facial washes and/or cleansers and ofcourse, drink lots of water.
  • Bandage: Tired of dealing with that stubborn eye make-up that never seems to wash off, Lady Gaga apparently uses tape or bandage to get rid of hers, so just might be worth a shot. Mind your lashes now, though.
  • Ground coffee: This can be used as a body scrub as it stimulates the cells and gets rid of dead skin.
  • Vaseline: Do you have blisters when you wear a new pair of shoes? Simply rub vaseline or ori over the areas before you wear the shoes as this will reduce the friction and chances of you getting blisters.
